Pairing multiple phones using multi-point

multi-point enables your bose® bluetooth® headset to maintain an active connection with two mobile phones. this means your headset is ready when you want to make or take calls from either your personal or your work phone, for example.

before setting up multi-point mode, at least one other bluetooth® enabled device should be stored in the headset's pairing list. for more information on how to store a bluetooth® enabled device in the pairing list, see pairing the headset with your device.

to turn on and set up multi-point mode, follow these steps:

On the bottom of the headset, slide the power switch to the on position so the green colour is visible

turn bluetooth® power "off" on any bluetooth® enabled devices already paired to the headset. the bluetooth® led will flash rapidly (once per second) indicating that it is no longer connected to its paired device

on the top of the headset, press and hold both the volume + and call buttons for 5 seconds to enable multi-point mode. the bluetooth® led will flash slowly (once every two seconds)

on the new phone, turn bluetooth® power "on." some phones may vary. for additional help, refer to the owner’s guide for your bluetooth® enabled device

locate the bluetooth® device list within the new phone’s bluetooth® menu. you may need to manually scan for the device, and select the “bose® bt1”. as the two devices connect, the bluetooth® indicator on the headset will flash, and then turn solid blue to indicate a successful connection. the indicator will turn off in 30 seconds once paired for the first time. if your mobile phone asks for a passkey, enter digits 0000 and press ok. some phones may also ask you to accept connection

Turn the headset off

on both phones, turn bluetooth® power "on"

the headset will recognise the bluetooth® devices based on priority. by default, the first paired bluetooth® device will be the first priority device and the other bluetooth® device will be second priority. to test which phone has the higher priority, double click the call button. whichever device makes an outgoing call is the first priority device. once the phone priority is determined, the following rules will apply:

When making an outgoing call

First priority device

pressing the call button on the headset will activate voice commands (if enabled)

Call

Calls can be placed manually

Second priority device

When taking an incoming call

First priority device

The ringer will be heard in the headset

pressing the call button will engage the call

Call

Second priority device

The ringer will not be heard via the headset

pressing the call button will engage the call. once a call is engaged the device will then become first priority

If one of the two devices is turned off, the device that is still on will become first priority.
