Steps to complete

The update application will require details from your Bose® Solo TV sound system (serial number and software version) before it can provide you with the correct update.

1. To retrieve this information, first power on your Bose® Solo TV sound system. The green LED light on the system should be solidly lit and not blinking

2. Now take your available USB thumb drive and insert it into the connector labelled "Service" on the rear of your system. The green light should turn amber and blink for several seconds, then extinguish. If the indicator light on the system does not change after you insert the thumb drive, remove the thumb drive and reinsert it

3. When the light goes out, remove the thumb drive. Your Bose® Solo TV sound system information is now available on the USB thumb drive

4. Now connect the thumb drive to your computer and continue to the software update by clicking below

5. Run the application

For Windows:

  • In the File Download window, click Run or Save
  • If Run, follow the prompts to perform the update
  • If Save, select a location for saving the file (Bose_Update_Application.exe). Then start the application from your hard drive and follow the prompts to perform the update

Note for Windows users:
If you have multiple user accounts on your computer, you may be prompted to input administrator credentials in order to run the application.

For Mac:

  • Wait for your computer to download the file. It will appear on your desktop as a hard drive icon.
  • A window should open. Drag the update application file to the desktop as indicated (If the window doesn't open, double-click the icon.)
  • Run the update application from your desktop and follow the prompts to perform the update.

6. Now that the update has been saved to your USB drive, remove the USB drive from your computer and return to your Bose® Solo TV sound system to perform the update. Once again, make sure your system is powered on and the green light on the system is solidly lit

7. Insert the USB drive into the connector labelled "Service." The update will start automatically and the light will change from solid green to solid amber, briefly blinking every few seconds

8. The update will take a few seconds to complete. The light on the Bose® Solo TV sound system will extinguish and an audible chirp will signify that the update is finished

9. Once the light is extinguished and a chirp is heard, remove your USB drive from your Bose® Solo TV sound system. The system will return to normal operation once the USB drive is removed and the system is powered on

Troubleshooting

Try the following before starting the updater application again:

While downloading the update from the Internet:

  • Make sure your Internet connection is working properly
  • The application needs to know specific details about your Bose® Solo TV sound system. To retrieve this information, first insert the selected thumb drive into the connector labelled "Service" on the rear of your system. The green light should turn amber and blink for several seconds, then extinguish. When the light goes out, remove the thumb drive and reconnect to your computer.
  • Wait until your computer instructs you to remove the USB drive

While updating your Bose® Solo TV sound system:

Be sure your system is plugged in and powered on and the green LED is solidly lit on the system before inserting the USB drive.

If you see a red LED on your Bose® Solo TV sound system during the update, remove the thumb drive from the system, unplug it from the wall outlet for 1 minute and then plug it back in. Make sure the system is powered on (showing a solid green LED) and reinsert the thumb drive.
